Scoliosis is a spinal deformity where the spine is curved from side to side, usually as an “S” or a “C” shape.
Kyphosis and Lordosis are the terms that refer to the normal curvatures of the spine. Kyphosis for the thoracic and sacral regions and Lordosis for the lumbar and cervical regions. However, the same terminology is used for hyperkyphosis and hyperlordosis, which are the actual medical conditions.
There could also be a combination of two or even all three of the above conditions on the same person.
General body exercise, aiming to balance the strength and elasticity of the muscles, is of great importance to help prevent these deformities. However, in the case that scoliosis, kyphosis or lordosis are diagnosed, then targeted exercises are required.
Instructor Christos Georghiades specializes in these 3 conditions of the spine with a very high percentage of success. A number of referrals from the medical field have also been attended to with remarkable outcome.
